Description
Under Aquila’s Scrutiny is a portrait of Aquila, a golden eagle at the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, Montana. While photographing her, I remember joking that I was a Golden Eagle too, referring to the mascot of the College of Southern Idaho. Judging by the look she gave me, I am not sure she agreed. The image captures the intense expression and presence that inspired both the title and the reaction many viewers have had to the photograph.
