Summer is Starting to Take Shape

The last few weeks have been busy. Not as much creating as I would have preferred, but that is how things go sometimes.

The Annual CSI Faculty & Staff Art Exhibit at the Herrett Center for Arts & Science opened on May 26, and the exhibit will run through August 1. There are pieces from many artists working in a variety of mediums. I chose to enter three framed photographs, and one of them, Under Aquila’s Scrutiny, was awarded 3rd Place in Photography by the guest judges.

This year I chose to enter images that are available for sale, with 50% of the published price going to the College of Southern Idaho Foundation, Inc. to support scholarships. Thank you to the person who purchased “Under Aquila’s Scrutiny.” I am grateful for your support. My other two prints are still available for purchase at the Herrett Center through August 1.

I am also working on building a way for you to purchase my photo postcards and note cards through this website. More information will be coming later this summer.

I also went out on a few short photo excursions. One turned into more of a scouting trip, with not many images created. But just this weekend I was able to see a few of the elusive South Hills moose. I wasn’t looking for them this time, so of course they were ready for the spotlight. The lighting conditions weren’t the best, but I’ll see what I can make happen.

With summer here, I am ready to get out and spend some time working on astro photography. Mostly Milky Way images, but if the sun keeps flaring, we might get another chance to see the Northern Lights down here in Idaho.
